Step Class #12: Layered Embellishments

Welcome to 2013 everyone and to our first Step Class this year!  I hope you all enjoyed a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and that you are excited about crafting this year!  We have a fun Step Class this month, that is really easy, and you can even use bits and pieces of supplies you have on hand.  This month, we will be creating Layered Embellishments!  Layered Embellishments can add some great dimension to your layouts or projects without adding a lot of bulk.  Plus, you could even make up several at a time and have them on hand, whenever you need one to add to your layout or project.  Here's what I created for the class:

1.  I started by gathering several supplies.  Paper Flowers, Wood Veneers, Chipboard Pieces, Baker's Twine, Spray Mist, Button, and a Toothpick.

2.  If you are misting, go ahead and mist the pieces you need to color and let them dry.  I misted the large White paper flower and the scallop circle Wood Veneer.

3.  Next you can assemble some of the pieces together.  Make sure your mist is completely dry before putting your layers together.  I used the toothpick, to create a fun little Flag to add to my embellishment.

4.  After you have decided how to layer your embellishment, adhere it to your layout or project.  Easy peasy and it adds a great look!!

Now, it's your turn!  Your embellishment does not have to look the same as mine, but I would like for you to use at least 4 (FOUR) different elements on your embellishment.  For reference once again, I used:  Patterned Paper, Paper Flowers, Wood Veneers, Chipboard Pieces, Baker's Twine, Spray Mist, Button, and a Toothpick.

Make sure you link up your layout or project using a Layered Embellishment, by Monday, January 21.  I will announce the Step Class Winner on January 22, and the winner will be featured in our FITGirl Spotlight on January 29, and have your layout or project highlighted on the side bar of the ScrapFIT Blog.

I can't wait to see what you create!!

Great challenge! I did multiple layered embellishments: for the title I used layered patterned paper, with chipboard letters, a paper twine banner, chipboard tags/arrow, rub-on text on top of the chipboard, ribbon, and a pin. For the lower right corner embellishment I used: Patterned Paper, a 3D paper sticker, ribbon, chipboard letters, a rub-on, and a pin. I also love your example Layout Ashley! Fabulous.
